Extinction of the Week

Well, in 1957, the once abundant thicktail chub (Gila crassicauda) was gone from the Sacramento and San Jauquin rivers. If it existed elsewhere, the loss might have been temporary. But, it's not.

For those who say, "So what? What's the loss of a fish?" I say, "Is that the legacy we want to leave for the future? That we blindly destroyed entire species."
